What are you doing to Improve Your Health? Q&A

in health •  7 years ago

We all know that health is important and we all do different things to improve our health.

I am curious to know what are your favorite activities or practices to improve your health? What do you focus on? Is it physical health? Mental? Emotional? Financial?

Do you think good health is important or is it ok to just get by?

Do you think enjoying yourself is more important than staying healthy?

Ive become a bit obsessed with health over the past few years, i assume thats because ive realized that im not getting any younger.

At the moment i ONLY drink water or tea ( fruit, green etc ) and make sure that i dont eat any white rice or bread, i also only have lean protein ( chicken breast and salmon )

its a bit pricey in the end but.... cant really put a price on good health

Nice! I am glad you are taking the health rout. We definitely feel it more as we age. I am only 29 but I am already noticing how much different my body reacts than when I was 18. I certainly can't be drinking like I used to in college. At the same time, I feel way better all around when I focus on my health.

Holy cow im 29 as well ! twinsssss

no but seriously, yeah i totally agree, i mean i never had a .... drinking or drugs phase, but i was eating mcdonalds sometimes 3x a day

there was a deal at the mcdonalds near me that had 20 piece chicken nuggets for $2 and they used to have triple cheeseburgers for $1 on wednesdays.... there was no way that i couldnt eat those things, especially when i didnt have a lot of money

but in the end, i think its good that we started early, because so many people i know in their 50s and 60s have horrible eating habits and are on tons of pills and just wish that they had done things differently

oh my, McDonalds really knows how to trick people into eating their crap, its hard to turn down all that salt and sugar for $2.

You are right that it is best to start early and yes, some people in their old age are so screwed up, it is really sad, and modern health care doesn't do anything to help them out, just give them drugs for their addiction, super sad. :(

Everyone needs to find a good balance between healthy activities and enjoying themselves. I wouldn't go on a diet with food I don't like just because it's healthy.
Find a good and long term sustainable lifestyle that works for you.

Yes! Balance is super important! Good point! :)

Well currently for lunch I am eating a salad when what I really want is a whole pizza :(
But I really think that a happy life is a balance between enjoying yourself and staying healthy. If you can do both of those things then bravo 👏👏👏 :)
