With the arrival of the "Bolivarian Revolution" in Venezuela, 9 million hectares were seized, most of them in full production since mid-1977. Corn, rice, sorghum, sesame, sunflower, various grains, vegetables, various tubers and in general everything that in Venezuela was consumed at least 80%.
This resulted in that 20 years after 1998, the entire agricultural system came to the ground, sponsoring a huge corruption, with the import of the government of these products and the implementation of the famous CLAP Food Exchange, whose main objective is to avoid direct marketing of the few products that are produced in the few companies that have managed to survive this hecatomb.
These bags of food reach only 15% of the population and as of this month, they will demand the identity card of the political party to receive them.
All this brought as a consequence the disappearance in the markets, supermarkets, etc, of the products of the basic basket.
The few people who receive the CLAP's alms, the food is only enough for at least a week.
This is one of the reasons for hunger in Venezuela, a country that has more than 15 million productive hectares without producing, because, among other reasons, the machinery is without spare parts, oil, rubbers, etc. For many years they have not been brought, imported, to the country, fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, etc.
Draw your own conclusions, my dear ones.
