Today we’re going to talk about how to do facial at home and have that glowing skin. One facial can cost as much as $80 and even though it’s nice to go to a spa and get one of those procedures, it’s way too expensive to do it regularly. Doing your own facial at home can be very relaxing and save you a lot of money! We can all agree that all of us deserve to have healthy and glowing skin!
Cleansing
Every facial starts with cleansing and exfoliating of your face. We’re going to start by making our own facial scrub. For that you’ll need 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of milk. We’re going to get a small bowl, add the sugar, then honey and milk. Now, we’re going to mix all of those ingredients as well as we can to get this lovely consistent texture. We can use this scrub for any type of skin since it doesn’t contain any oil that might block pores for those who naturally have very oily skin. So first of all, pull your hair back from your face and tie them. Afterwards, put some of that scrub on your face and start rubbing it into your skin with circular motions. Be gentle and take your time. Exfoliating breaks down all dead cells that clog pores and don’t do any good to our skin anymore. Therefore, it’s a great way to get your skin cleaned up.
Afterwards, wash your face with iced water. All you have to do is get some cold water and add ice to it. Then give it 5 minutes or so to become ice cold and use it to wash your face off. It will reduce face puffiness, help pores to tighten up and give an overall lifting effect.
Facial Mask
Now we’re going to make a facial mask for a soothing and refreshing effect. For that we will need a quarter of a cucumber and 1 tablespoon of greek yoghurt. Cucumber is full of water and choline, which is a water-soluble vitamin-like nutrient that is a building block of cell’s membrane. Having enough of it ensures healthy membranes that will keep cells hydrated. Greek yoghurt has soothing properties too, it contains lactic acid that dissolves dead skin cells and clears up your skin. Firstly, peel the cucumber and chop it as well as you can. Then mix it with greek yoghurt in a bowl. Afterwards, just apply the mask to your face and enjoy the cooling effect it will give you. Take your time and stay in the moment. Afterwards, wash it off with ice cold water again.
Face Massage
Now it’s time to massage your face. You can either grab your favorite oil – coconut or olive oil, or take your favorite moisturizing cream or just use water depending on your skin type and on how your skin really feels after that facial mask. I have relatively dry skin, therefore I’m going to use coconut oil. I simply love the smell of this product. When you’re massaging your face, make sure to do it in circular motions and do it slowly. There is no need to rush and the experience should be relaxing. Make sure to massage your under eyes, forehead, cheeks, upper lip, next to your eyes and even your chin. Afterwards, wash your face with ice cold water once again and apply a small amount of moisturizing cream if needed.
