For a more peaceful slumber, the US-based National Sleep Foundation suggests:

  • Avoiding caffeine, alcohol and rich spicy foods close to bedtime.
  • Limit daytime naps to 30 minutes.
  • Create a bedtime routine and go to bed and get up at approximately the same time everyday.
