First Month of Autoimmune Protocol Elimination Diet: Results

How about... I feel incredible?

Last night, I accidentally ate a little bite of cake.

We really don't need to get into how it happened, I was craving sweets and it was a moment of weakness.

Cake... as in the kind made with wheat... as in

I ate gluten.

For whatever reason, I found this hilarious and erupted into nervous laughter.

I guess I felt relieved. I've had nightmares for years about accidentally doing just that, and the dreams were always permeated by extreme feelings of dread, panic, and woe.

The reality of it was much easier to digest.

In fact, it was literally easy to digest, and I experienced no reaction whatsoever.

So it looks like this AIP diet is the real deal, and I am making a full recovery.

Let's celebrate! Go have a beer in my name!

I'll be continuing this diet for one more month, just to be sure that I've had time to heal my gut completely, so I'll pass on that beer.

Wow! Nice progress. And don't worry about some minor mistakes... our body is smart enough. Cake from time to time is good as well :)

Yes! I'm clearly healing and getting much better in the tummy. A few months ago, just licking a piece of cake or bread would have had me erupt into full-body hives followed by extreme heartburn. Today, I can say that I had zero negative reaction and it feels like such a relief!

Whatever you do, do not go to Cake Monkey on Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles. The cakes are the best ever.

lol Thank you!!! <3

I would have actually ate all of it. :) It still amazes me how much people care. I eat whatever I want and then after a few months or so starts jogging for about 5 miles a day.

I'm so glad to hear that you're fortunate enough to be free to eat anything without experiencing serious digestive distress! :) I'm so jealous of those who are concerned about the amount of fat on their bodies. Unfortunately, my biggest concern has nothing to do with fat. My concern is whether or not I'll be healthy enough to get through the day.

Actually it's not just me, many of my friends, family and the community around me doesn't even care about diets and if they hears someone that he's on diet, they would actually think that he's probably ill. :)

We are not just brought up that way. We consume a lot of energy but we dispose it off as well.

Our daily intakes are very very rich and if I just state it here for you (considering how much you care) you would probably die of heart attack. :)

btw I am a South Asian.

I think you may have missed my point.

This is a doctor-recommended diet which I am following in order to avoid developing intestinal cancer. I am on a diet because I am sick. Not every diet is intended for weight loss.

Thanks for sharing your view on diet fads, which I absolutely agree with. I would not be following a "diet" were I not extremely sick for ten years of my life.

It is very fortunate that you have never become ill from food. I envy your good health.

Oh my goodness, I think I missed that. Sorry to hear that. I wish you health and much power to you.

I hope to see your next post where you have more than just a slice of cake :)

Haha, thanks. Rest assured, though, I am eating plenty of ice cream. XD I'll eat anything that doesn't hurt my stomach.

I'm actually quite proud of the fact that I haven't dropped any weight on the special diet. I've managed to keep the fat content up in my food well enough to maintain all the beautiful curves and muscles that I've built over the years.

Good to hear that. I don't wanna sound like a pervert but indeed it was those curves that draw us all here. xD Enjoy!

I look at it as a blessing in disguise =))
But yeah, it can be annoying and frustrating having to take extra steps to achieve a certain result that someone seems to achieve without so much hassle.

It's true. However, I'm nearly finished with this protocol, and will soon be eating normally again! I have a friend who became seriously ill like I have been, and his doctor recommended the same diet. After three months of following the diet, he was able to eat normally again. Cake and ice cream and cookies included! Haha

I'm happy to hear that :)
Health should be our first priority, but cake and ice cream can be a close second sometimes))

thanks
