It’s ok to let it slack as long as you pick it back up again.

This is me, in front of the gym, which I am about to enter.

I have been a member of this gym for the past year, ever since my son started swimming lessons here. And I have largely been going faithfully to the gym twice a week for that past year. But the last three to for weeks, I just couldn’t muster the energy. I let it slip completely and abandoned all selfimposed restrictions. I had a blast eating and drinking whatever I wanted.

And that is ok. It’s really ok to sometimes just let go in order to come back and be rejuvinated and motivated again. As we say in Dutch:

The bowstring can’t be hold under tension forever aka all work no play ...

But now, nearing the end of the year,I decided to pick up the slack and pick up my healthy ways again. I loath New Years resolutions (they are set to be broken from the get go), so it was detriment I started this before Januari 1st. Instead of croissants with an extra slice of cheese everyday it’ll be lowfat curd with some granola. Instead of beer on weekdays, it’ll be tea.

The fasted gains in getting back into shape are the ones you don’t put into your body in the first place.

I’m excited to pick this up against and so is my better half, @rijkie, so we can motivate and support eachother.

Good luck with your fitness goals! I personally find it extremely tough to keep up with resolutions and realized resolutions are weird => deciding to do something for 12 months, but in reality I should try to really integrate it into my life long term.

That’s absolutely the reason why this is most definitely not a new years resolution. I am working to re-integrating this back into my life again. And so should you 😉

We can do this!!!🤜🏻💪🏼

You bet we can 😎

I loath New Years resolutions (they are set to be broken from the get go), so ...

I couldn’t agree more, and that’s exactly why I started exercising a few weeks ago iso next month 😊

Well done. You look like absolute shit doing it btw 😂

Thanks, that’s exactly how I feel as well 😂

Oh that's clever, starting before the new year! I have totally let it slide since the birth of my son. Yeek, three months ago nearly. I intend to get stuck in after I go back to work next week. Good call on the curd and granola

Can’t say that I blame you. A baby is like black hole for energy ... last thing you want to do is spend what little remains on healthy living (which does take some time a day)

Very true. I have just about got the first three months out the way which was my aim so in a bit of a routine now. So should be good to go and coincidentally its the new year lol

Haha @ the slightly flummoxed expression! Go for it man!!

That’s my natural expression you ass LOL. But I most definitely will. I am already glad I went. I am strong like Lion !

Natural expression or not, there's deep thought going on. I just know it!

XD

I’m in the same boat as you friend. Work has been so busy that I haven’t been back in the gym for awhile. Work should be not so bad in the middle of January then I’ll get back to my routine!

Just keep working to get back to the routine and you’ll be okay!

You bet. Routine is everything !

By physical exercises, both body and mind are fresh.

Yeah exercising really helps to keep both your body and your mind in shape. It’s really great for getting your mind of things.

I agree.

Your amazing attitude will get you far! Plus, it's contagious! Thanks for infecting me a little bit today! Happy New Year.

Thats always really nice to hear you influencers someone in a positive manor. Thanks for telling me. Have a great New Year as well.
