To develop a better understanding of how a particular type of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) known as radiofrequencies (RFs) affect human health, we are sharing our research in a series here on the blockchain.
While the human body, Earth itself, and other cosmic bodies including the sun create RFs (as well as other EMFs), we are particularly interested to know what kinds of energies are generated by modern appliances, devices, and technology. We want to know if there is potential harm from exposure to these types of EMFs, and if so, what we can do to protect ourselves.
We are exploring answers to those and other questions in this series.
To build a solid foundation of understanding, please take a moment to read our first posts on this topic:
- What Are EMFs, How Do They Work, & Why Do They Matter?
- What is RF Radiation & How Does It Affect Health?
- EMF Effects: Let's Talk About DNA!
- Measuring EMFs: Don't Whip Out That Ruler Just Yet Boys!
While we are finding lots of fascinating stuff with our research, we also see that not only are relatively few resources accessible & easily digestible by the laymen, but there is also very little consensus amongst the scientific community. For example, we see that different sources give wildly different daily standards for exposure to EMFs!
This is exactly why we conduct our own research and take our own measurements with our own radiofrequency (RF) meter. We encourage everyone to QUESTION EVERYTHING! We will share our findings in upcoming posts on the blockchain in service to all.
Energy is a dense topic, so we are slowly introducing new concepts before adding more complex layers.
Today, we want to share a conversion chart that will be helpful as we move along in this series:
The data we are gathering from our own tests will be given in Hertz, milligauss, watts, volts, and Tesla increments, as well as decibels per milliwatts, so a thorough understanding of these units is paramount:
- Hertz (Hz) - a measure of frequency indicating the number of cycles per second for any phenomenon with regular periodic variations.
- Gauss (G) - measures magnetic flux density.
- Watt (W) - measures power, specifically how much power is needed in 1 second to generate 1 joule.
- Joule (J) - measures a transfer of energy. It is defined as the work done when the point of application of a certain amount of force (called a newton) is displaced one meter in the direction of the force.
- Volt (V) - a measure of voltage, which is electric charge or current.
- Tesla (T) - standard unit of magnetic flux density. Can be calculated in terms of amps or webers:
1 Tesla = one kilogram per second squared per ampere (1 kg/s^2/amp) = one weber per meter squared (Wb/m^2)- Weber (W) - another measurement of magnetic flux. One weber per meter squared (Wb/m^2) = One Tesla.
- Volt (V) - a measure of voltage, which is electric charge or current.
This will be helpful as we share more on this topic! For a deeper discussion of important terms and units of measurement, refer to this previous post.
Our next few posts will discuss current standards for human EMF exposure & the potential effects of EMFs on health, leading into our own low frequency and high frequency testing on everyday objects. Stay tuned!
Please ask any questions you have, and we will take them into consideration as we continue our research!
We hope this will inspire you to do additional research and work towards the best possible health for yourself!

This is a very complex and confusing topic. These posts are helping me get more clear on what this means and how it works!
Great job so far and looking forward to the next ones!

Really glad to hear that. We're trying to make it as accessible as possible, because it is very complicated - especially to people who do not have "official" science backgrounds...which is the majority of people. Yet as you point out above, it affects everyone's life! Everything is energy!!

Though I have been a science student during my school and college years yet I never paid heed to this important fact which this post is all about. I think this is a much needed topic and it should be shared with more and more people. Well done @gardenofeden. You're proving yourself to be an asset to Steemit community. Loved your post.

Very well said!
I bet there are MANY people in this category and then there is everyone else who didn't even study science in school who know even less!
Yet as you say this is a very important practical and revilement subject to our every day lives!

It's really interesting how little is actually known about energy, even though it is absolutely inseparable from matter. We have questions that we assume others do as well, so we're sharing our research in service.
Thanks for your support, @ugetfunded!

its good to see some technical details here on Steemit. That and real data are few and far between

Thanks @momi5. This affects everyone, and there is actually very little research or discussion on the topic!
