Yarrow flower is a flowering plant belonging to the family Asteraceae, mostly found in North America, Asia and Europe, known with common names such as godaldo, old man´s pepper, nosebleed plantdevil´s nettle, sanguinary, soldier´s woundwort, milfoil, thousand-leaf and thousand-tea.
The use of this plant includes lowering blood sugar levels, because it contains a compound called inuline, helping the glucose in bloodstream and supplying the cells with the amount of glucose they need.
It also contains some flavonoids, related to stabilizing the insulin secreting cells the pancreas.
It is used in cases of ulcers, stomach bleeds, cough, bronchitis and allergies and for treating menstrual cycle disorders and it is good in the case of hemorrhoids, venous circulation, and digestive disorders.
Since it contains salicylic acid, it is also used as analgesic, and for lowering fevers and treating flu and common colds.
Dosage in Tea
Usual dose of this herb is 4.5 g per day for certain diseases.
The tincture of this herb is also useful in many diseases and the dose of that tincture is 20 drops.
