Memorizing information is not learning!

You must have already learned the list of capitals of the world or a vocabulary list of a foreign language by heart. To give the answer on the day of an exam, the method of learning "by heart" approach to learning can work, but to learn in the long term, it is inefficient.adult-books-books-and-boys-1049652.jpg
It's time to use neuroscience in our approach to education and teaching and to find alternatives to traditional methods of education. With new insights into students' cognitive processes, better learning strategies are possible!

The fact that 2 x 2 = 4 is a good thing to know but when you think of it in terms of purchasing, or calculating materials to be used in construction it takes on a whole new meaning. You are now applying what you have been taught to a real world situation and in this way, you have learned something valuable. In our world, it is good to know about taxonomies and the variations to choose from, but it is only when you can apply what you know, that you realize you have learned something valuable. source

What is Educational Neuroscience
Educational neuroscience (or neuroeducation, a component of Mind Brain and Education) is an emerging scientific field that brings together researchers in cognitive neuroscience, developmental cognitive neuroscience, educational psychology, educational technology, education theory and other related disciplines to explore the interactions between biological processes and education. source

How to learn better?
This is the time to use science in the classroom. Teachers are very important didactic elements in learning. We need enthusiastic and innovative schools that want to improve their educational process, who want to know and learn more about how to use the new tools that motivate students, and integrate emotions, surprise, motivation and cognitive processes to learning.
Many schools have already started implementing new neuroeducation technologies in their training process.

Scientific literature has shown that games can activate the hippocampus , limbic system, and regions of the brain's reward system. This helps students to be more motivated and focused on their learning.
The problem is that the traditional teaching method is too simple: the teacher explains the lesson and the students, sitting and inactive, listen passively. This strategy may work for certain situations or subjects to study, however, it is not a model that encourages learning. For students to pay attention, it is not usually enough to ask them, you have to get their attention.

Preparing games from a teaching unit, knowing the cognitive strengths and weaknesses of each student, and associating learning with real situations requires more effort and resources. Yet this is the key to better learning and education.
We must break the patterns of our traditional education, and use methods based on the system of "reward" rather than punishment!

Hey @healthblogger, you just shared great info. I always had issues with learning stuff. And right here, you just decluttered all the buried mess present inside my head. I never wanted to mug up things since my childhood. And it's fascinating for me to discover a new kind of thing known as educational neuroscience. I will definitely research about it. By the way, I am following you for more such great posts. Keep the good work up. See you Soon ♥
