Cancer vaccine raises hopes for humans as found effective in mice

Researchers have invented a cancer vaccine which is found very effective in mice that has raised hopes for humans.

Stanford researchers have been able to successfully eliminate all traces of cancer in mice by injecting minute amounts of two immune-stimulating agents directly into solid tumours, Reuters reported.

The vaccine works for many different types of cancers, even those arise spontaneously, according to the study.

The researchers said the vaccine works very fast, inexpensive and does not cause adverse side effects.

"When we use these two agents together, we see the elimination of tumours all over the body," said Ronald Levy, Reuters quoted professor at Stanford University School of Medicine in the US as saying.

One agent has already been approved for use in humans while the other has been tested for human use in several unrelated clinical tests.

To test the effect of the treatment in patients with lymphoma a clinical trial was done in January this year.

Great news, now we need to see masses of researchers working on expanding these findings. We can send people to the moon, program huge amounts of computer code across the world. Make incredible powerful portable computerized phones, surely we can find a cure for cancer.
