The Turkey Tail mushroom in my opinion is one of the easiest mushroom to identify. They love to grow on dead hard woods but will grow on just about any dead branch/ tree/ log. You can find them almost anywhere in the world. The most distinguishing feature is the bands of tan, brown and white that looks like a turkey's tail. On the under side there will not be gills. Turkey tail will have a smooth porous under side. When ever picking mushrooms make sure you know 100% what it is your putting in your mouth. If you aren't sure take the mushroom home and do some research!!
The benefits of pure honey are amazing. Also if you get local honey it can help if you have out side allergies.
Some of the Turkey Tail Mushrooms I harvested
Chopped the Turkey Tails up and boiled them for about 30 minutes. The longer you boil them the stronger the tea will be. Strain out the liquid and your about ready to add the honey.
You can put as much or as little honey as you like. I put a few teaspoons in my tea. Give the liquid 5 min or so to cool down before adding the honey. If the mushroom water is to hot it will kill some of the beneficial bacteria that is in the honey.
Then sit back and enjoy!!
Wonderful info!
Turkeytail grows almost everywhere and could benefit almost everyone.
I've been considering making Turkeytail tea kombucha. Have you heard of anyone trying to do such a thing?
