I had read about this some months ago, and here in Brasil the media almost ignore this. I believe it's because we have big and powerful beer companies and a growing habit of drinking beer throughout all the weekends and hollidays (we got a lot of them here).
I think that some probability of disease wouldn't be abble to make me always avoid alcohol, but the blackouts really scare me. Because of them I am in this battle to never drink again.
