Are you gaining weight or losing it? You have to realize that the definition of weight is a lot different from person to person. Therefore, what one person calls as weight gain or weight loss may be something totally different from another person's perspective. Similarly, weight gain or weight loss differs from one individual to another too. So, if you are constantly wondering "Am I Gaining Weight Or Losing Weight? ", here are some of the simple tips to determine the same:
Check yourself: There is no magic formula that will make you lose your unwanted weight. But, you need to focus on certain factors in your body that is contributing to weight gain like:


  • Fat: Do you have an excess amount of fat over your abdominal region? This will increase your body's cholesterol level, which in turn increases your blood's chances of getting oxidized leading to increasing your chances of developing cardiovascular diseases. In addition to this, the presence of excess fat will restrict your mobility as fat restricts the joints and impedes your body movement. When you do exercises regularly, your fat level will come down but you should ensure that you burn more calories than consuming.

  • Cardiovascular Disease: Studies have shown that excessive fat also increases the possibility of developing cardiovascular diseases. This is because fat constricts the blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich blood to different parts of the body. Also, excess fat traps the fat in the body making it hard for fat to be burned. You should be cautious about eating too much fatty food as it increases your fat content and makes your body prone to developing heart ailments. Check your food consumption, to monitor your calorie intake.

  • Diet: You should have a proper diet that fits your lifestyle and your needs. If you feel that your weight is going up without any logical explanation then you should consult a doctor. Have yourself checked and keep track of the food habits and exercise regimen that you follow. You might need to change your diet and lose some weight. Do not expect quick results as long as you have the will power to stay the course.

  • Exercises: You need to have an adequate amount of exercises that you can do on a regular basis. This will help to strengthen your muscles and keep your body fit and trim. You can either opt for low intensity exercises such as walking and jogging or go for an intense aerobic workout.

  • Water intake: It is essential that you maintain a sufficient intake of water in your body as it is a very effective method of losing weight. The reason behind this is that water helps to flush out the toxins from the body. However, do not go for fizzy drinks as they might contain hidden calories that would add up to your fat percentage. Also keep a check on the amount of food and beverages that you take in a day. If you feel that your body is craving for something sweet, try incorporating natural sweeteners like raw honey, cinnamon or dried fruits.

  • Sleep: Some people might think that sleeping is not directly related to losing weight. But according to many studies it has been proven that regular sleep helps to keep your body metabolism intact. This means that your body is not digesting food fast and you are getting the energy required by your body. Thus, a healthy and sound metabolism is necessary if you want to be slim and trim.
