Some people were thinking that electronic cigarettes is a safer alternative than regular cigarettes in general. This is because in the e-cigs does not use tobacco as a smoking base material also contained fluid from e-cigs is considered safe for e-cigs consumers. However, recent studies suggest that there are toxic gases from e-cigs is very harmful to lungs and cause other health problems, then of the study explaining also that more e-cigs heat and often used the more poisonous compounds also released.

Hugo Destaillats, a chemist from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California explained that he and his team found a number of toxic chemicals produced by the e-cigs. Some of these toxic substances have not been found before. In addition they also observed that when compared to regular cigarettes, electronic cigarettes is safe for active smokers.

In the e-cigs, vapor produced from liquid that is inhaled through the e-cigs. The cigarette maker dissolve a wide variety of flavorings, usually nicotine into a solvent known as food grade, this solvent is considered quite safe to eat (but in certain cases if inhaled through the lungs, not swallowed into the stomach may be harmful). When inhaled, solvents with a particular taste will flow through the e-cigs, then as it passes through one or more coils of hot metal, the liquid will evaporate into a gas. Vapors mixed of various flavors is rich in toxic chemicals, one of the toxic compounds is nicotine. The presence of liquid nicotine in the e-cigs will stimulate nervous system of smokers in the same way as does tobacco.

But the latest study found that the solvent is made of chemicals would be highly dangerous if inhaled. This occurs when the solvent face hot metal coils, change into these vapors that form new toxic compounds. The hazardous compounds including formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. The aldehyde compound is regarded as cancer-causing compounds, and other aldehyde compounds such as acrolein is also dangerous because it can irritate the eyes and the airways.

The team from Berkeley uses two types of electronic cigarette with three different types of liquids. Mechanical test equipment draws air through an electronic device that makes vapors as normal people inhale it. The chemicals that make up vapors is turned into a more toxic as the e-cigs heats up, it means the initial released gusts slightly toxic than the next gust. 

The picture explains that the voltage of the e-cigs factors will affect the amount of toxic compounds (per-microgram) resulting from each gust. The higher voltage of the e-cigs formation of toxic vapors will be more rapid and more. But at some point, liquid can not get more heat thus placing the high heat will only make the liquid evaporates and completely break down into a new and even more toxic. An increase in the formation of toxic gases tend to rise gradually as the heat of the metal coil, coupled with the high voltage then there will be a sharp boost in the presence of the three most dangerous chemical compounds earlier.

Scientists also compares vapors they spend the next by vapors from the start blowing, the result is 60% more aldehydes produced more than the initial puffs.
