Many olive oils are cheap counterfeits made by the Mafia?

I get so confused by all this scare-mongering about food. Coffee is good you. No, it's bad for you. No, it turns out it is good for you. And so are eggs. I switched to olive oil a couple of years ago and now, it's not genuine.

What's a foodie supposed to do? What do you do, Gary, about buying olive oil?

Here in Australia, I buy the brand that gets the best ratings. Here we have Choice magazine, that rates a huge number of consumer products. Their winner for olive oil was Aldi's brand called "Just Organic" -- it's their Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Its the "mild" flavor. Grown in Spain and harvested solely by mechanical means, so the bottle tells me. 100% organic.

And yes, I agree with your first point. So confusing, all these claims and counter claims. That's one reason why I dig into this stuff and write about it, both here and at my main health blog, https://naturalhealthjoy.com/

Gary

So where do I buy it? At our local Aldi store. One thing I like about Aldi is that you can return stuff. I've returned many items over the years. Never a squabble or an interrogation about why. Just a prompt refund on the spot.

And it's one reason I follow you. You do the heavy lifting, aka the research well. I appreciate it.

How kind of you to say so, Joanne. Thanks.

You are the real deal.
Your site is a treat, thanks
