Receiving – how well are you at receiving?
Gifts?
Compliments?
Money?
New ideas or ways of doing things?
When we aren’t able to receive it’s like having a closed door that we don’t or can’t open – we are literally being closed off.
The other night I was given a personal compliment, which I noticed I could not fully receive – you know the under comfortable feeling in the body, the blowing it off or laughing it off and not being able to say thank you as you don’t believe it or can’t see or feel it.
Now, at the same time I also took notice that 2, 5 or 10 years ago I would not have been able to receive any or most of it – so I’ve come a long way!
I took note of it and sat with it the next day – asking myself some questions – What was in the way of me from totally receiving? What’s right about me that I’m not getting? How could this shift easily and effortlessly?
If I am not able to fully receive in one area of my life, then I can’t in others as well. If I couldn’t receive fully then I wasn’t shining my light fully either – this is where beliefs and programs come in aka ‘I’m not good enough.’
I also realized that I can’t see or perceive what someone else can. I assume that they see what I see, but who knows really what another sees.
By not being able to receive compliments I am diminishing their light as well by not acknowledging their choice for whatever reason.
Being able to receive say a compliment should be no harder than to hear ‘Please pass the plate of veggies”.
Thank you is the best response to btw.

When we can easily and effortlessly receive even the small things in life and be grateful for them the Universe will keep giving us more and will surprise us – if we get out of our heads of how things should be!
The more we can receive for ourselves as in compliments the more we can show up as we are not hiding behind programs and thoughts like ‘I’m not good enough’.
We gotta stop squashing each other’s lights and start sharing and spreading the light – being open to receive is a great place.
Thank you for reading and sharing this!
How are you on receiving?
What could you do differently today to receive more?
And a BIG Thank you for my friend showing me where I still needed to grow and become more aware!!
