For today's weed news we talk about Crohn's disease.
A recent study that has come to light has concluded that smoking cannabis can potentially reverse Crohn's disease!
The study was conducted on 21 Crohn's disease patients. Half of them were given real cannabis (containing 23% THC and .5% CBD) to smoke while the other half was given joints that contain no cannabinoids.
Researchers found that 45% of the participants given real cannabis went into complete remission of their disease after just eight weeks of continuous use!
The rest of the participants given the real trees reported feeling less pain and that they were better able to sleep and eat after the 8 weeks.
The study marks the first example of a placebo-controlled trial involving specifically cannabis and Crohn's disease.
It also adds yet another, scientifically-backed example of a medical use for this amazing plant. I believe these results can and should be used in court to finally get cannabis rescheduled.
I'm sure more and more studies are going to continue to pop up proving once and for all the cannabis is medicine and that sooner or later the government will have no choice but to admit it.

So much more research that can be done is hard to get off the ground due to the amount of red tape given the subject matter.
We recently approved grant funding for a cabonoid research study (Neurology). But 3 months later, the research team is finding it hard to source the right product and get it into Australia.
