Some women are not just blessed to not have any PMS a week before or during their period.
1 exercise
2 healthy exercise
3 hot compress
4 light massage
5 proper dosage medication if pain is not tolerable
6 avoid salty food and unhealthy vices
I personally do hot compress around the painful area when I have it. I find it much better than taking pain reliever because it is quickly effective. It is a lot relaxing too.
If you do have severe dysmenorrhea each time though, I think it is a lot better to consult the doctor to ensure that there is no hidden medical condition.
