Weighted blankets -- has anyone used one?

TBI

I am recovering from multiple concussions. This causes sleep issues. I am considering a weighted blanket, which can help with many issues, including TBI (traumatic brain injury).

My research

I've found several sellers. Consensus seems to be 10% of body weight plus a pound or two. I'm around 190 so that'd be a 20 pound blanket for me. These cost close to $200, which seems rather expensive.

Then again, my doctors have told me that "sleep deprivation is a form of torture" and I suppose I'd be willing to pay a little extra in order to stop the torture!

I had a decent night's sleep last night; I took Alteril before bed last night and although I got up after 4 hours to pee, I was able to get back to sleep. Often I get up and can't sleep again, so this was a minor victory. (I am still really tired though.)

$229 for an 18 pound blanket -- Link

Amazon list, starts around $170 -- Link

No decision yet

I'm leaning towards one of the Amazon sellers; the one with dolphins on it looks nice, and is the lowest cost I've found at $170.

Please let me know if you or someone you know has used a weighted blanket, and whether it helped with their condition or not? Thanks!
