I know a lot of people are taking precautionary measures just keep themselves fit and healthy. This is one essential thing to do especially for people who have reach 40 years old and above.

I will be enumerating simple measures that could help someone maintain a healthy body thus will get a better chance to live longer.

Honestly these sort of suggestions were gathered from my own experiences with myself and some peers who had encountered health problems in the past. I tried not to research so this would be pure original content haha.

Anyway I hope Dr. @hafiz34 will be able to reach this short blog of mine and will leave his valuable and precise comment or maybe corrections and additional insights (from a certified medical doctor himself) in the comments box below.

So here we go with those suggestion or precautionary measures that each and every one should consider if we want to remain healthy.

Eat Healthy foods – I think over and above those other important precautions, I find this one the most essential defense. I may not know the exact percentage but some major countries like United States, China and India are having obesity problems, as it is one of the major cause of death in their country. They even established the World Obesity Day and other campaign to spread awareness to their citizens.

I know it’s not merely about how heavy or big you are but the health complications. When your obese it is for you to develop illnesses or abnormalities like elevated sugar, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc. that could cause more complications that could eventually lead to death at an early stage.

This is the reason why I find eating healthy food as the most important.

But how?

With the presence of a lot of fast food chains around offering yummy and crispy French fries, burgers and the like it would be very hard to obtain a healthy lifestyle or maintain a healthy diet.

It would be one great challenge if you really want to keep or consume a 100% healthy food in all your meals.

Exercise regularly – This is one simple thing to do to keep yourself fit as it does not require hours at the gym plus all those expenses with the gears or attires. Running or jogging on the other hand is not the best thing to do if you want to exercise, simply a 30 minutes brisk walking could greatly help one to maintain a healthy body.

But the sad thing is that people don’t spend time doing even a simple exercise. Although there are a lot of reasons behind that could somehow exempt them from having no time for exercising at all.

Honestly for me it’s not the time, although I am making use of my extra time on #steemit (haha excuses) but it’s more on laziness.

Most of the time people get alarmed when something bad happens already. I mean someone could never be that serious in doing exercise if he or she didn’t experience mild stroke or mild heart attack. It seems that we are waiting for some worst thing to happen before we can be very vigilant with our health.

That’s a fact!

Drink a lot of water – Drinking a considerable amount of water is also essential foe one’s health. Since human body is 60% water, it is but significant to drink a lot of water every day, at least 8 glasses.

This is one thing I am guilty of. I don’t know but the taste of water made me not to want to drink a lot, maybe just right after meals or snacks but in between I seem not to care to drink more water at all.

It’s so ironic that even knowing all the benefits of drinking water like it helps in absorption, digestion, circulation, etc. I still don’t drink the desired amount every day.

Anyhow I choose to create another blog regarding the benefits of water in our body so if you have something to add, you may write it below.

So there you go, I find the three mentioned above as the most important things to do in order to promote and maintain healthy mind and body.

it's really hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle especially when you're working somewhere far from home and living in a dorm. you cant prepare your own food so you are left with no choice but to buy cooked food or worse, fast food. ☹️ but these are goodpoints sir! hopefully one day, magawa ko yan lahat

I totally agree with you @enjieneer that is why I find it hard to have healthy foods when were working abroad, good that i have a good friend and officemate, binibigyan niya ako ng donations na food hehe so in this area di ako guilty , but exercise? Yes.

Im not fit, at all. Sigh. I've been trying to lose wait for about 2 years now but i always fail. lack of self discipline perharps? i know what to do already but the challenge is always on getting things done and sticking to your plan. So this year, that's what i will work on. Very informative post sir. :)

Thank you for this post. I realised this year when took walking as opposed to driving. It started as everyday with dropping my daughter to and from school. Running to the train station instead of driving . Now l prefer walking everywhere l eat what l like and l can still lose weight and maintain a great body.
