Struggling with dementia - my Godmother, she is a beautiful strong woman

Dementia is “failure of the brain” says a lot of neurologists, at the end of someone's life.
Patient's brain slowly dies, they change, they change physically, they forget who they are, were, they lose the ability to speak, walk, etc. Patients end up usually unable to move, unable to eat or drink alone. Phases beforehand are just as painful.
And then came a day they suddenly forget how to dress themselves, they become confused, they repeatedly ask where their life-long mate is or where their children are while looking straight at them. But they are still partially aware of who they were, even if they are confused, angry and frightened, yet they are no longer that person, you used to know.

I know someone who live a battle against dementia, still struggling with dementia - my Godmother, she is a beautiful strong woman. ‎
