There is no down side if the herb is properly used correctly. I don't ever recommend to smoke it like the vast majority of people do. I always recommend to juice the plant, vaporize it or extract the cannabinoids into butter or cooking oil and make edibles with it. Smoking the plant causes too much carcinogens to enter your lungs and that's not very good at all.
