So, if you are just like your avarage (cup of) joe, you are probably drinking your coffee quite soon after you wake up.

According to science, it's better if you wait a while.

When you start waking up, your body's stresshormone called cortisol is at it's highest. Adding caffeine to that to spike it even more is not the best way to start your day.

Heck, because of all the cortisol your adrenal glands have to make, if could even start working less then optimal!

If you want to wake up. The best thing to do is get in the sunlight right away and/or do light excercise!

Coffee is for late in the morning or beginning of the afternoon when your body's own cortisol production has lowered.
Dont drink it after 14:00 hours for it can inhibite a good quality sleep. even if you dont feel it does!

Try this, and thrust me you will feel better and have more energy!

Let me know if you are going to start drinking coffee later!

Good luck! Michael

I don't know about waiting that long for coffee in the morning!
Having a glass of water before having coffee is the best I got.
Cheers

Interesting - does make sense and I'll try it out.

This is really interesting information! I'm a personal trainer and I have never heard of this specifically, but the science checks out in regards to cortisol levels etc.
