Take a Fish Oil Supplement

For the most part I am against supplements. The manufactures always exaggerate their claims and most supplement are not worth the money.

Fish Oil is different.

I believe every person should take a fish oil supplement. The benefits are numerous:

- Lowers triglycerides

- Improves symptoms of depression

- Decreases blood pressure

- Increase HDL (good cholesterol)

- Reduces inflammation

- Decreases cortisol

- Improves appearance of skin

Fish oil also contributes to fat loss by increasing the oxidation of fat in our bodies and down regulating the synthesis of fat.

Do not expect to get shredded by only taking a fish oil supplement. You still have to work out and reduce your calorie intake. But as an adjunct to working out and diet, fish oil is as good as it gets.

Dosages

- Minimum: 2-3 grams daily

- Optimal: 5-10 grams daily (about 1 gram per 20 lbs of body weight)

It is important when looking at a fish oil supplement that you read the back of the label, not the front. On the back you need to look at the amount of  EPA and DHA.

There are a lot of fish oil supplements out there. The two I would recommend are Thorne Super EPA and Dr. Tobias Fish Oil.
