We are trained to consider exercise as perhaps the most important factor in any weight loss. You already know the exercise: join the gym on January 1st if you want to achieve the goal of losing weight for the new year.

But the evidence has been growing for years that practicing, while it is good for your health, is not so important for weight loss.

Studies say that the extra calories that you burn only make up a small part of your total energy consumption, and that reducing your food intake is a much more effective way to lose weight. Obesity doctors have even asked for a rebranding while we think about the exercise.

To be frank, exercise has major advantages: it reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease, strengthens bones and muscles and even helps with weight control; It is simply not the most effective way to lose weight.

But in 2018 we must stop treating the lack of physical activity and nutrition as equivalent to the problem of obesity in this country. There are also other factors like excessive consumption of low-quality food and non-hygienic food environment.

Of course there are many factors which influence obesity.
It is the right mix which is the key.

Sports or at least physical activity and the right diet.

You are absolutly right, exercise alone cannot do wonders. There are many other factors involved too, I am overweight and I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 15. I have tried almost everything (different diet plans like Keto, Atkins, banana diet etc) to lose weight and nothing worked for me because I was not heading in the right direction.

Like:

  1. Eating right and not exercising.
  2. Eating junk and working out.

Well. I agree on the point that exercising is not the only way to lose some fat.
The main point of losing weight (meaning fat and/or muscle) is the caloric deficit your body must get into.
The first way of getting into caloric deficit is eating less.
The second is eating more then in the first way but doing exercise to burn the calories that you would eat more here, then in the first way .
(The third way is jsut combining 1 + 2 for maximum result, but imo this way isnt sustainable for a longer period of time).
Most people simply feel bad when they eat less, i have felt this way myself.
So, why make yourself feel bad ?
You could be eating more and meanwhile lose weight. Just add some exercise in. Another benefit compare to just restricting calories is, if you add exercise you can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time even in a caloric deficit. (-> Body recomposition, there is evidence that this is possible, even in trained athletes) Also the muscle that you will build will help you burn more calories even while doing nothing. 10kg of muscle help you burn approximately 100kcal more in a non-active state. That doesnot sound much, but that´s still something.

The low quality food appears to be a major factor. Part of the problem is, for many years, they taught us the Food Pyramid, which is an entirely unhealthy way of eating.

yes i doing everyday

Not to mention the quality of water that you are exposed to the level of impurity even in mineral water is scary. The level in tap water is beyond a joke I have tested it and on average there are over 850 different impurities in it. That's not even healthy to wash in let alone drink. I Distill my own now so I know its just Hydrogen & Oxygen in mine that's what we are made of so that's what I'm putting in.
