One of the biggest issues around vaccines is the fact some doctors are not privy to the fact they can be harmful to people dealing with an infection. This was certainly true in the case of Andreas Engelbertz who was injured by the measles and mumps vaccine in Germany and has been handicapped for over 30 years.

At the time his ordeal began, Andreas was one day away from turning 2 years old. He was completely normal and considered to be a healthy child by his mother. But when he went in to be vaccinated, Andreas had an abscess in his upper jaw due to an accident that occurred 8 weeks earlier while playing. His tooth had been knocked out and it was subsequently re-implanted. Andreas’ mother spoke with the doctor about this because she was worried about him getting vaccinated while also having an infection. The pediatrician said it was not a cause for concern and went ahead with the vaccinations.

Too Late to Turn Back

Just a few weeks after the vaccinations, Andreas’s health began to deteriorate. He couldn’t walk normally, was fatigued, had panic attacks, trouble sleeping, and screamed a lot, his mother says. Now, fast forward to 10 to 15 months down the road and Andreas had his first seizure.

“I thought my child was going to die right there in my arms,” says Barbel Engelbertz, mother to Andreas.

At the tender age of 5, her son started taking four different drugs to help control the seizures. But the drugs were too toxic for him to tolerate. His mother says his body had accumulated such a high level of toxins, he would have died if he had kept taking them.

Why did this happen to Andreas?

Andreas’ vaccine injury was quite severe but maybe it could have been avoided if the doctor had decided not to vaccinate him until his jaw abscess had cleared. When a vaccinated child is trying to heal from a present infection, the immune system can become overtaxed, particularly from the toxic adjuvants found inside vaccines. Aluminum compounds, for example, are frequently added to vaccines to enhance the vaccine’s ability to stir up the immune system but they can cause irreparable brain damage.

Not only has Andreas and his mother been trying to cope with the day-to-day reality of what has happened, they’ve also been trying to fight a legal battle to have this horrific injury be recognized for what it is – a vaccine injury. For 22 years and counting, his mother has been fighting several courts over the matter.

But the fight hasn’t been a fair one. According to his mother, the defense lawyer’s testimonies have been the only ones presented. One written testimony that was not allowed was from a public official who stated it is highly likely Andreas’ injury occurred due to vaccine poisoning. The county would not allow his testimony due to a conflict of interest.

Two members of STIKO, the German Standing Committee on Vaccination, were assigned by the courts to give their “expertise”. One of those experts, Professor Stehr, signed his testimony on April 20th, 2000. The way Stehr tries to pinpoint Andreas’ disorder on a genetic defect, instead of the vaccines is nothing short of outrageous. He has classified Andreas by his cranial features, a technique that was common between 1933 and 1945 when eugenics was popular. His description of Andreas is that he has an elongated face, square-shaped forehead, broad nose bridge and large ears. That may very well be an accurate description of his external features, but his testimony would be considered highly flawed according to modern standards.

As we can see from this case, lawsuits can be extended to crazy lengths of time.

Barbel Engelberts: “It seem as if they’re playing a waiting game. They hope that those who have suffered severe reactions may die before compensation is awarded. Such grim suspicions arise when you see court cases that last 21 or 26 years. The longest legal case I know of took 40 years to conclude for a vaccine reaction caused by the smallpox vaccine. This was an extreme example but 20 or 30 years are typical."
