Resolution: live a healthier life

in health •  7 years ago

I posted an update to my new year's resolutions the other day. I wanted to share one of them and make a more specific post.

Living a healthier life is my way of making a fitness resolution, but with a purpose. My goal is not to lose weight or eat better. It is to live better. That's one of my themes for this year, and every step so far has been with the goal of having a better life.

My first step in living a healthier life was to change the way I eat. I learned about things that I wanted to avoid, and have done well so far. My family has followed suit some too, which is really fulfilling to me.

  1. I learned about msg. Msg is something that's added to a lot of "foods." I learned that msg is the recipe for fattening up lab rats, which I kinda find disgusting, so I looked through what I ate regularly and I mediately ceased eating anything with msg.
  2. I learned about fake cheese. American cheese is tasty plastic. I stopped buying it. It's a toxin that your body doesn't know what to do with.
  3. I stopped using fake butter. Real butter is what's up y'all. I love this stuff.

Along the way, I've been making an effort to make one small change at a time.

  1. I stopped eating after work. I try to not eat after 9 p.m.
  2. I started buying all natural food for my work lunches.

  3. I started taking vitamins daily.

  4. I started being less sedentary at work.
  5. I've started making an effort to get 6 hours of sleep a night.
  6. Apple cider vinegar 3-10 times a week.

Small changes, but over the last couple months they've made a big difference in my life. Once I get one new change worked into the routine, I go to another part. It's progressive, because the better I feel, the better I want to feel.

Hope y'all can find some usefulness here. You don't have to do anfad diet or starve yourself to live better. Just make small progressive changes, and the only thing you'll notice is a better life.

Stay relevant and live well y'all

Nate
