I've been suffering from cold sores a couple years now and they are the most annoying thing I've ever had to deal with. They always come at such a horrible time. Well, what time would be the best time for a hideous blister to pop up on your mouth? Never. So, I found out some ways that help me a great deal to not have them come at all and if they do, only last for 3 days.
Daily: Eat healthy .. blah blah but the real trick is to stay away from trigger foods. Eat high in L-lysine and low in arginine.
Encouraged: Beans, peas, lentils, fish, chicken, eggs, garlic, most cheese and, dairy
Avoid: Chocolate, peanuts, tomatoes, wheat germ, blackberries, blueberries
Take 1000mg of L-lysine daily
When or if you start to feel the tingle start, take 2000mg ASAP and try to take it 3 times a day
Take vitamin C 100mc 2 times a day
Take a clover of garlic twice a day
REAL CURE:
Drink a teaspoon of black seed oil two times a day: You may burp out a pepper taste but I promise that it will be worth every second that this bump will be off your face. Take even after bump disappears to keep it away. Taste great in soup and beans.
Once the little bump appears to start to put the oil directly on the bump and hold it 30seconds.
Ice
Peppermint oil and Eucalyptus apply every 2-3 hours, you'll feel the tingle and it is very satisfying
These things will be your best friend
And last but not least, Hands off! Don't pick the blister, just let it scab and fall off to avoid the spreading of the virus, bleeding, and scarring.
I'm not a doctor or a medical professional so please do your own research, these are only vitamins but everyone is different. You should go to a physician and see if they may need more medical attention.
These are tricks that I have learned and hope that they help you too.
