The CDC is recommending everyone 6 months and older get the updated coronavirus vaccine this fall when it becomes available. Regardless of previous doses received.

The new vaccines will target JN.1 or descendant KP.2, which are the predominant circulating strains.

The vaccines are expected as soon as August.

Novavax is targeting JN.1.

Pfizer and Moderna may target KP.2.

Just a note for anyone that is uninsured, the Bridge Access Program is unfortunately ending in August due to discontinued funding. So if you get the vaccine after this period, you may have to pay out of pocket.

For everyone else, insurers should cover the vaccines given the ACIP recommendation.
