Scoliosis

Is the lateral and abnormal curvature of the spine, this is a fairly common pathology which causes discomfort and constant back pain to those who have it, most people who suffer from it lead a normal life, however, in those who have a very advanced scoliosis suffer from numbness in the extremities and severe pain in the area where displacement is found, which worsens in the elderly as this is a disease that over the years is going grabbing, to the point of leaving those who suffer from paralysis and lack of sensitivity. Remember that the vertebral column has the spinal cord inside it, which is called the mother of the nerves, one of its functions is to protect it, therefore having a deviation from the natural shape of the spine is affected the marrow and of course this does not work correctly.


The Rx images of the dorsal and lumbar spine that can be observed are of a girl of approximately 20 years of age, which has a very serious thoracolumbar scoliosis for her age.

This pathology is usually treated with therapies or with surgery in severe cases.

Anatomy data: The spine is formed by a total of 33 to 34 vertebrae, which are divided into the regions: cervical (7), dorsal (12), lumbar (7), sacral and coccyx (3-4).
