It not only quenches thirst but is a natural remedy for many ailments.

Coconut water is a natural beverage that offers the body an abundance of advantages. It is a clear, sterile liquid found in the nut (located at the fruits centre).

Coconut water contains compounds such as vitamins, minerals, sugars, electrolytes, amino acids, phytohormones and cytokinins.

A slightly sweet drink with a nutty flavour, and is best consumed directly from the coconut

.........

  • Hydration - It is a natural isotonic that is easily available.

  • Good for Pregnancy - Improves immunity and boosts level of amniotic fluid in pregnant ladies.

  • Helps Weight Loss - It is low in calories and drinking it is said to reduce cravings.
The bio active enzymes aid in fast metabolism. Ingesting extra sodium or fast foods creates water weight. Coconut water helps regulate that.

Did you know: Coconut water amounts to only 45 calories a cup?
It has less sugars and carbohydrates but more minerals and electrolytes.

  • Antioxidant - Drinking coconut water can help get rid of toxins and eliminate bloating and swelling. The natural nutrients are better absorbed and play a vital part in both beauty and health. It encourages cell growth and regulation. Antioixidants also help neutralize oxidative stress and free radicals. A hormone cytokinins in coconut water is believed to have anti-aging and cancer fighting properties.

  • Remedy for Diarrhoea - The electrolytes and minerals in coconut water are absorbed fast and help to flush out the toxins. It also stabilizes the electrolyte balance in the body due to fluid loss.

  • Diuretic - Drinking coconut water improves urine flow and rids/prevents infection in the urinary tract.

  • Reduces the risk of kidney stones - Since it acts as a powerful diuretic, it helps flush out the kidneys, thus reducing the formation of kidney stones by reducing crystals in the urine. Coconut water keeps the crystals from sticking to the kidneys.

  • Natural source of potassium - An 8 ounce glass of coconut water has as much potassium as a banana. At 405mg per cup the potassium in coconut water can ward of cramps. In addition to balancing electrolytes and fluids in the body, the magnesium contained in coconut water moves potassium into muscles for aid in contraction and relaxation.

  • Good for the Heart - The potassium in coconut water is found to reduce hypertension by increasing water retention in the body. The right amount of electrolytes regulate blood pressure thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Potassium also helps lower blood pressure and potentially lowers the risk of blood clots forming. Thus, preventing heart attacks!
