No Can Do!
(This is my previous post (edited) as it was posted in error after entering the "Edit" mode.)
If something so simple as posting on Steemit can be screwed up, I can do it! Unfortunately, once you post an article and it has been voted upon, the post cannot be deleted. This is one of the inherrant problems with the Steemit system. Once a post has been upvoted or has generated earnings, the post becomes permanent.
How Did It Happen?
I posted the article about "Writer's Block." After posting, I noticed a typo and went back in to edit the article. Once there, I also decided to change the title. Then when I was finished, I accidentally clicked on the "Post" button at the top of the page. When I realized this, I then scrolled down to the bottom of the edit page and clicked on "Update Post." This created an entirely new post. By the time I realized what I had done (about 30 seconds), someone had already upvoted the new post! Ooops... too late!
What To Do If This Happens.
You can "Edit" the entire post to new content as I have done with this one. Unfortunately though, you cannot change the primary "Tag" that was originally associated with the duplicate post. So I suggest, creating a new post with similar content - maybe just expound on your original article. You can change all Tags except the primary tag. I would also comment @anyone who has upvoted and commented to inform them that the content has changed.
So I edited and created this new post... which is still worth the original upvote of 0.01! I might just have to reward that voter! (Which I did.)
Thank you sir for the information
