Why is “Fast-food” bad for health?

Let us know the bad effect of fast food on our body based on the following points. That too in easy language: -

  1. Effect on digestion and cardiovascular system- Fast food gets taste by combining fat, sugar and a lot of salt ie sodium. But fiber is used in moderation. We understand them differently.

  2. Sugar - Most fast food, including beverages. Sugar is too much. The American Heart Association recommends eating about 40 grams of sugar per day. Which gives 100 to 150 calories. Many fast foods alone contain more sugar than this. Insulin is secreted by the pancreas. Sugar is delivered to the cells via insulin. By which the energy requirement of the body is fulfilled and the remaining amount of sugar is stored. Which leads to weight gain. Also, eating excessive amounts of sugar can cause insulin deficiency; Due to which diabetes can occur.

  3. Fat - Oil and ghee are 100% fat. It uses excessive energy to digest. Its excess is collected in the form of meat in the body. Which leads to weight gain.

  4. Sodium- Sodium, which means excess salt is dangerous for the condition of high blood pressure and has a bad effect on the cardiovascular system. According to a study, 90% people do not pay attention to the excess of sodium in fast food. Keep in mind the American Health Association recommends not to eat more than 2300 milligrams of sodium per day. But generally in fast food, more than one sodium can be present in a single meal.

  5. Fiber :
    Generally, fiber content is very less in all fast food. There is no nutritional use of fiber. However, it plays a very important role in keeping the digestive tract clean and draining the stool properly. Due to its deficiency, food remains in the esophagus longer than normal. Due to which indigestion, gas, heaviness, exhaustion, stress etc., many problems arise.

6.Trans Fat :
This fat is produced during food processing. Such as fried foods, pastries, pizza, cookies. This can increase your LDL or bad cholesterol and decrease good cholesterol. Which can increase the risk of diabetes, heart disease etc.

a. Effect on respiratory system :
Fast food meals increase excess calories. Which increases obesity. Asthma shortness of breath, tiredness in work, excess pressure on the heart and lungs cause a lot of damage to the body. And cause diseases.

b. Effect on Central Nervous System :
Fast food can satisfy hunger in short term. But the long-term results are less positive. According to a study, a person eating more fast food is 51% more likely to suffer depression.

c. Effect on the reproductive system :
The elements present in junk food and fast food can affect the fertility of the male and female. Because phthalates contain chemicals in these processed foods. Those that inhibit the hormones present in the body. High levels of these phthalates chemicals can be dangerous.

d. Effect on skin and hair :
Eating more carbohydrate rich food causes a sudden increase in blood sugar level in the body. According to a study which causes acne, there is also a possibility of developing eczema in the skin. Due to which swelling, itching and skin can become rough. Naturally, the deterioration of the skin also negatively affects the hair.

e. Effect on the Skeletal System :
Excessive carbohydrates and sugar present in fast food and junk food can increase the acid in your mouth. Due to which the enamel of teeth can deteriorate. Bacteria can thrive, cavities may develop in the teeth. Consuming fast food in excessive amounts can cause 'osteoporosis' disease. In which bones become weak. Obesity also causes tension in bone density and muscle mass.

f. Effects of fast food on society :
Six people out of 10 have been found to be overweight. Efforts to raise awareness and reduce the amount of calories, fat, sodium in fast food have so far failed. In a country like India, given the lack of health facilities and expensive medical facilities, people themselves have to be highly conscious about health.
