A healthy-eating child is happier

in health •  7 years ago  (edited)

It was discovered that healthy eating, whatever their weight, was associated with their children, more respect for themselves, less emotional and peer problems.

The research done by scientists from the Sahlgrenska Academy in Gothenburg University in Sweden showed that self-esteem of children who are increasing their consumption of vegetable and fruit, which has limited refined sugar and fat intake, is less powerful and has less emotional and emotional problems with their peers.

The results of the survey on "BMC Public Health" stated that 7,675 children aged between 2 and 9 were examined in Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Sweden.

At the beginning of the study, parents were asked how often their children consumed 43 items of food at weekly intervals, and children were given healthy nutrition scores. Later on in the questionnaires filled out by the families, self-esteem of the children, their relations with their parents and their peers and their emotional status were evaluated.

Scientists also measured the height and weight of children. Measurements and surveys were repeated two years later.

The study found that self-esteem of children who eat fish two or three times a week is stronger, conflict and emotional problems with their peers. Consumption of whole wheat products was also observed to be an improvement on peers.

It was also found that children who consumed vegetables and fruits in compliance with the guidelines, had a stronger self-esteem for children with restricted sugar and fat intake, better relationships with family and peers, vegetable fruit consumption, and less emotional fat intake.

Scientists have emphasized that healthy children are witnessing these positive developments in spite of being overweight.
