Hallo everyone dear steemers,
Today I come to you again to talk about a topic a really care: male prevention.
I have collected ten rules about prostate health that can be a “ vade mecum” for man more than 45 years old.
Let’s start to list!''
FROM THE AGE OF 50 YEARS YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST EVERY 12 MONTHS A MONITORING VISIT
Each visit must be preceded by the dosage of the PSA in its three fractions (Total, free and Free / total ratio), and the urologist has to execute the Digito rectal examination and maybe, add a TRUS (specialized ultrasound of the prostate with a transrectal probe).
In men who are considered “at risk of Prostate cancer” (the ones that have a first-degree family member suffering from prostate canceror some genes mutations) screening should be started earlier (40 years old) and should be done at more frequent intervals( every 6 months).
COMFORTABLE LIFESTYLE
A chronic inflammation of the prostate very often depends or is exacerbated by an altered lifestyle. The careful observance of the following recommendations is essential to mitigate the annoying symptoms caused by prostatic inflammation and to avoid recurrences, which are very frequent.
MODERATE THE DAILY INTAKE OF SOME DRINKS AND FOODS
beer, sausages, spices, pepper, chili, coffee, chocolate, fatty cheeses, fatty fish (eel, tuna, mackerel), seafood, shellfish (shrimp, lobster).
All foods listed have showed an intense irritant activity on the lower urinary tract (prostate and bladder).
PREFER FOOD CONTAINING ANTI-OXIDANT SUBSTANCES
Vitamin A (carrots, apricots, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes), Vitamin C (currants, kiwis, citrus fruits, strawberries, cauliflower, peppers), Vitamin E (olive oil, vegetable oils, wheat germ), Lycopene (red tomatoes ), Selenium (meat, walnuts, egg yolk), Zinc (red meat, walnuts), Manganese (whole grains, black tea, green leafy vegetables).
All foods listed have marked antioxidant properties so they help reduce inflammation on the lower urinary tract (prostate and bladder).
4.
DRINK AT LEAST 2 LITERS OF WATER PER DAY
Drink at least 2 liters of mineral water, in small sips, frequently throughout the day is a good way to reduce the specific weight of the urine and avoid urinary infections, which are very frequent in the prostatic patient. However, it’s recommended to reduce the intake of fluids 2-3 hours before going to bed, in order to avoid getting up at night to urinate because of the increased diuresis.
REGULATE THE INTESTINAL FUNCTION
Intestinal function must be regular! Both, chronic constipation and diarrhea may lead Bacteria to cross the intestinal wall towards the prostate (entero-urinary circle).
HAVE A SEXUAL REGULAR ACTIVITY
Sexual activity if practiced regularly, has beneficial effects.
On the other hand, prolonged abstinence causes stagnation of secretions in the prostate gland and a possible seminal infection. As well as an excessive activity stress out the prostate gland inducing inflammation.
AVOIDING TO PRACTICE INTERRUPTED COITO
In order to avoid annoying phenomena of involuntary reflux of the seminal fluid when the ejaculatory stimulus arrives, this must always be indulged and never interrupted voluntarily.
PRACTICE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
All aerobic and physical activities reduce the congestion of the prostate and stimulate the pelvic circulation.
MODERATE THE USE OF TWO-WHEELED VEHICLES (motorbike, scooter, bicycle, exercise bike)
Perineal microtrauma may be responsible for inflammatory prostatic processes. The use of padded saddles can only partially reduce these phenomena.
We must bear in mind that the "transgression" of even one of the above rules is sufficient to generate inflammatory processes at the prostate level and that the combination of several factors leads to an amplification of these pathological phenomena for the prostate gland
Really interesting! Thank you!
