Papaya contains vitamin C and E, it also contains beta-carotene and lycopene which are antioxidants. These anti-oxidants prevent oxidation of cholesterol in arteries. Oxidation of cholesterol is a dangerous process due to which the arteries are blocked with plaque resulting in heart attacks. Consuming papaya which is rich in anti-oxidants improves the blood flow to heart reducing the risk of heart attack.
High level of homocysteine in blood damages the blood vessels and results in cardiovascular disease. Papaya has high content of folate which controls the homosysteine and prevents the danger of heart disease.
Papaya has also fiber in it which controls the undesirable LDL cholesterol this cholesterol is absorbed during digestion. Thus papaya helps us in prevention from heart attack and stroke.
