Lighter:
By all means, my husband’s Plant Based ways have a lot to do with me and the sales pitch was very much how I got our dog Stella into our home (who was an aggressive rescue, but now no one would have ever guessed that).

We are both pretty good alfa pack leaders with a passion for training/communicating so I said, let’s take her for a week and see if she responds with our style of pack leadership. He said ok. 5 years later, she’s a docile, calm happy pooch!

Then, last fall I said, how about you try eating vegan for the next couple of months…until Christmas? You have a great deal of stress going on and the comfort foods you lean towards just make you more tired, grumpy and less tolerant.

He said ok. And he felt great! Handled his stresses in style, even I was amazed.

January, February and March were a hit and miss for healthier eating. We traveled. Dined out and he ate more meats and cheeses…drinks and sweets.

Come April he got really sick. As in severe sinus infection that almost killed him, scary as f*ck for me, I can tell you that.

His recovery involved a high nutrient vegan diet with every K probiotic food you can find – Kefir, Kombucha and Kimchi at every meal!!

He recovered remarkable quick. Even the doctors were substantially impressed.

He’s been 98% vegan since then and I can tell you for certain, he looks younger than he has in the last 5 years but most importantly, he feels lighter – and we are not talking about weight, it’s spirit.

My theory is that when you stop eating meat and dairy, you also stop ingesting all of the fear that animal endured. This makes you feel lighter.
