Hi Steemers! Happy Wednesday! I'm sure you've noticed alkaline water is all the rage these days...for the inside of your body. Yes, a nice tall glass of 9.5 pH water is just the thing to get you refreshed and ready for the day. (Honestly, sometimes more than caffeine! No crash secret, shh.)
We can get into that another time. What about the outside of your body? We all would love that "I woke up like this" Beyoncé experience, am I right? Of course! Well that's where pH comes in. I work with a Japanese water company and we got to study intently about different pH levels and and what effects it has. This conversation will go smoother if you understand that most tap water including the shower, has an alkaline pH. (This does NOT mean it's healthy to drink without a filter or ionizer!!) Your hair has an average acidic pH of 4.5-5.0. Excessive alkaline water use will keep your hair dry, tangled and full of split ends. This is why acid washes can be so miraculous! Your skin even has a pH of around 5. When you use acidic water to wash your face, such as 6.0 or less, the water molecules are able to absorb into the skin acting as a facial toner and all natural moisturizer. 
This is one of many reasons why a water ionizer is a great long term investment. You save so much of skin and hair care products, seriously. Like...thousands!!! You'll want to use acidic water for your pets too. It's great if you have matted little fur babies like my fuzz face here. 
Like I said before, your shower and tap is most likely dispensing alkaline water filled with chemicals. So don't worry, its not you-it's the shitty water. Oops I meant city water! You are beautiful and flawless. We are blessed to have running water of different temperatures even if it is damaging to our beauty routine. Keep calm and carry a bottle of acid water!
