I am a student at IIN, or The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and am very pleased and happy to be apart of this school. It teaches a holistic approach to healing the body! I have always had a burning passion for a career like this. And I am finally doing it!
I love all the amazing information I recently listened to and read. the concepts that touched me most are:
Focusing on the individual rather than a theory or diet plan for everyone, deconstructing cravings, and exploration of dietary theories.
Focusing on the individual makes the most sense to me. I know I am very unique and adopt a diet lifestyle that suits my beneficial needs to maintain a healthy and thriving body. my mother, sister, father, etc. may not enjoy or reap the benefits of the food lifestyle I have adopted. This means that they need to figure out what diet lifestyle meets their bodies needs, this also requires patience and the understanding of following through to see results. Quick, fast, immediate results don't exist in the natural, holistic approaches because the body needs to heal and replenish what has been lost from poor diet choices, so the sooner we make the decision on enhancing health the less dis-eases you will suffer.
The deconstructing of cravings are significantly important to attaining a healthy lifestyle. I blame the biological addictive foods here in America. The lecture by Mark Hyman, From one of my class videos, can touch base here, and once you can start to eliminate the addictive foods, detox symptoms will naturally occur, but people are not aware of these detox symptoms and therefore make the assumption that the healthy foods are making them sick and the sugary, fatty foods aren't "bad" because it seems to make them feel better after feeling sick, because their bodies have gotten so use to the nutrition abuse and are addicted to the "bad foods." to deconstruct cravings takes will power and most importantly talking to the right doctor and health coach to help guide you through the detox symptoms. if you just research and educate yourself you will understand.
