Brett Molina in USA TODAY reports that DASH diet could not only help control weight and blood pressure, but it could also help reduce the risk of getting depressed.
The DASH diet emphasizes eating fruits and vegetables along with low-fat or nonfat dairy, lean meats, and avoiding foods high in salt and sugar. The plan was created to help people with high blood pressure.
A study conducted with 964 participants indicated that people taking DASH diet could reduce the chance of becoming depressed by 11%.
