What is Atkins Diet :

It is a weight loss program devised by Dr. Robert C Atkins to immediately lose weight by following the steps explained in this Atkins Diet.

It has 4 phases :

  1. Induction

The first phase includes the limiting of carbs intake which you consume on daily basis. This will result in your body switching its main fuel source from carbs to fat.

  • Don't skip meals for longer than 6 hours.
  • Have 6 small meals daily.
  • Make sure the protein intake is much higher than carbs intake.
  • Drink around 6-8 glasses of water daily.
  1. Ongoing Weight Loss

In this phase, you have to control the calories and protein intake which you decided to take in phase 1. You have to decide different types of foods which contain almost the same amount of carbs and protein which you have measured to take daily.

  1. Pre Maintenance
