The past few days have sucked. No other way to describe it. That is life some times, but when I got to work tonight I found a couple of articles in my news feed that made the world a little better.
First off, and this is going to piss off my wife, coffee makes you live longer. Yep. It's been scientifically proven. Now most of the people around me know that coffee is good for their health. Basically, if I have coffee I am much less likely to cause the people around me grievous harm. It's just the way it works. Check out the article! http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/study-cups-coffee-day-risk-death-article-1.3449446
The other article that I read hits home for me in a big way. The FDA recently approved a study using MDMA to treat PTSD.
I know many of my friends who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in much more severe ways than I do. Some of these folks have a hard time leaving their homes, going to work, being in the same room as their own noisy baby, or just making it through the day without blowing their heads off. My problems are nowhere near as severe, I just get extremely uncomfortable in certain situations when different triggers are present. I can deal with little effect on my life.
MDMA is something I first heard about a couple of years ago when I came across the organization mentioned in the article during an internet search. Now, please don't think that going out and getting a few hits of Molly is going to cure someone. The work that is being done is not some fly by night group who want to get wasted, this is exciting and effective stuff. Simply put, I have learned that in small and controlled doses of MDMA in a very controled situation is proving to have incredible results in helping those suffering from PTSD return to lives that are closer to what we consider normal.
Please take the time to read the article about PTSD, and the one about coffee if you want, and keep it mind.
