Health Reporters are Bad for Your Health!!

in health •  7 years ago

Just about every network news broadcast, local or national, has a health segment where they give you the latest "news" on health studies, treatments, new medications, and things of that nature. This seems like a logical segment being that a lot of Americans suffer from chronic illness and obesity. Its only right that the people that we rely on for our news would give us useful information about the latest state of our health. Well it would turn out that reporters and news anchors are just as shitty at health reporting as they are with all of their "journalism." As a former daily watcher of television news, it didnt take long for me to figure out the health reports are absolute shit. If you actuallly attempted to follow various guidelines, gleamed from your television news health reports, you would most likely end up confused, frustrated, sicker than before, and possible dead!

Currently the paradigm for t.v. health reporting is similar to the following examples:
Aug 18, 2015- Study says people who drink at least one cup of coffee a day live 20% longer than people who dont! Yes, I drink coffee
Oct 31, 2015- Study says people who drink at least on cup of coffee per day have a 30% more likely to die from cardiac events. WTF??? I thought we would live longer?? I guess we live longer then die from cardiac events??

But the example above is exactly the type of reporting you currently receive from the health segment of your local news. One day it seems like your habits are working in your favor and two months later you find out they are actually killing you slowly. How the hell would you know who to believe?

Now this latest health report falls into the , what I call, the Double whammy category! The 'ol damned if you do or dont, the choice between dirt and mud- fucked either way category. So a new study suggest:

That Soy Milk is the Healthiest Alternative to Cow's Milk? There are so many problems with this assertion that Ill have to just pick a few points to touch.

The first thing is this study would leave one to believe that drinking cows milk is in any way good for you. They have to audacity to put in printing that cows milk is still the most complete source of protein and other essential vitamins and fats. Thats a load of horse puckey! Milk is for baby cows. And even if you include the fact that some people believe raw milk can assist in repairing some heatlth ailments, the stuff you get in the typical grocery store is NOT THAT! You have to understand that reporters are just talking heads. When a television reporter arrives at work in the morning, the first thing they are supposed to do is read over there script in order to familiarize themselves with the news for the day. Im not sure if its that simple but that would explain why they sometimes read errors from teleprompters and are unsure about what context a certain word is being used. Well anyway, this is not about the reporters themselves but just to warn you not to listen to what you are hearing on t.v.. The person conveying the information to you most likely didnt come to that conclusion through investigation or any form of research. They are simply, quite literally, reading a story to you. Even more interesting about this particular health reporter today is that she knew that information is probably incorrect and tried to clean up the story without directly contradicting what she just reported. Milk is not exactly a healthy drink and soy is not a healthiest alternative. Studies on soy have actually shown that its molecular structure is very similar to certain human hormones and its ingestion can confuse the body and cause health problems. I wont go into detail here but Google.com has an awesome way of helping answer any questions you may have.

I am by no means any type of health guru or even a healthy person for that matter. But I know there are a lot of people that struggle with weight/health issues and really want to find answers and listen to advice from faces they come to trust. Remember, Im not saying they are bad people but they are just passing along a story that was handed to them. The bottom line is do your own research with YOUR well being as the focus of your research. Below you will find a few links to written reports on this terrible health study.
