Covid19 - why mitigation matters

I came over two partly overlapping stances on "why covid-19 mitigation matters" today. Here is the very short version:

without mitigation, health services will be overloaded

Of course, the ultra-short version is ... mitigation will save a significant number of lifes, as well as sanity in our health care.

Schools are getting closed now. We had planned sailing for the upcoming easter vacation, now we will start early and take a longer vacation.
