I am here to give an unbiased update on the controversial Affordable Healthcare Act (AHA).
They said: "If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it"
Reality: After rate increases, many employers started changing plans every year in an attempt to cut costs. Cross State border health plans were eliminated, leaving just a couple health plan providers per state. Less competition = higher premiums.
They said: "It will lower costs"
Reality: Premiums rose by over 10% in at least half of the country.
The really painful part was how fast deductibles rose in conjunction with the premium increases!
Since the AHA became law, health insurance became way more expensive on a monthly basis and covered much less of the actual expenses incurred at the doctor's office. If only I could find an employer to increase my salary 20% annually...
They said: "Congress will have to abide by the AHA too"
Reality: President Obama signed a waiver into law for Congress to avoid going through the Obamacare exchanges.
The AHA has turned out to be nothing more than a very large tax on the American people. Below is a chart showing the indirect taxes and penalties and the billions of dollars the Government is set to bring in.
Fact: Like any industry, when billions of dollars are taxed to it, the consumers are the ones that see the product increases. We saw premiums soar to levels that were simply not affordable to the middle and lower classes. It became even less doable when you factored in the high deductible's you would pay before insurance would actually kick in and offer assistance.
They said: CNN says "9 million people will lose health insurance as a result of Trumps policies"

Reality: Health insurance has become too expensive, and now that we are not forced to purchase a defective product, nearly 9 million Americans are voluntarily dropping their health plans.
As a small business owner, I was depending on the AHA to provide my family with decent health insurance since I was not able to obtain health insurance through an employer. First, I looked for catastrophic coverage that would kick in the the unfortunate case of cancer, or something major. Those coverage plans were eliminated for anyone over the age of 23. I was quoted $1700 a month in premiums and a $20,000 deductible for a family of 4 healthy people living in North Carolina. That's $40,000 a year before my health insurance actually kicked in. Maybe this was extreme, or maybe we just do not hear enough of these types of stories to actually get a grip on REALITY when it comes to AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE ACT!
My best advice is to always do your own research, please do not rely on mainstream media for your FACTS! Those are 100% BIASED "facts".
We need affordable healthcare.
