Approximately 85% of the US Population have the Rh+ Blood Types of A, B, AB or O. Thus, resulting in a very small population of the more rare Rh Negative Blood Types. For many years Type O+ Blood was incorrectly considered to be the Universal Blood Donor.

Yes, it is one of the rarest known blood group. Around 85 percent of the world population has the rhesus monkey gene and is Rh positive.The remaining 10-15 % has Rh-negative blood type pointing to a different origin. They have even been linked to having reptilian blood.
