There were 12 percent fewer pregnancies and 58 percent fewer live births in Flint than in other Michigan cities during Flint's water crisis, according to a new study.
Initial findings show that average birth weights of babies effected by the water crisis in Flint were more than five ounces lower than in other Michigan cities.
The new research from the University of Kansas (KU) and the University of West Virginia (WVU) suggests there may have been even more miscarriages in Flint than are documented.
More than 2,000 babies born in Flint in 2014 and 2015 were exposed to lead.
I have not been following this very closely but why aren't cities officials in jail right now? Clearly before they switched their water supply from Detroit to the local river they must of tested the water quality. Where are those reports? They must of showed high levels of lead in those tests and they still proceeded with the project anyways. Surely those test must of been covered up by people and those people should be in jail right now.
This is a prefect example of why you need to filter your tap water because you can't trust the government to keep you safe from anything. You are ultimately responsible for you and your families health and wellness so if you think your tap water is unsafe don't just sit on your butt hoping it gets fixed. Get out the credit card on get yourself a high quality water filter. It might just save you and your families lives.
