This is my training week, hoping to post every Friday with a breakdown of my training, including current race focus, goals and how the weekend went. So here is my break down of the weekend ending Friday 11th of May.

This Weeks Training Focus

Saturday had me race half of my May Marathons for my "4 Marathons in 4 Months for my 40th". An awesome result only two weeks after my last marathon. A little off my PB pace but still made a top 30 for the race with 1,500 competitors racing on the day.

My training is back to almost 100% and I have started a new bike training regime that focuses more on intensity than volume to see if I can finally improve my cycling pace in triathlon races. My swimming is coming along well and I am increasing the intensity of my runs. The weather in Auckland is getting colder so I am struggling a little to motivate myself to get out of the house early in the morning.

The following is a breakdown from strava on my weekly progress:
Swim: 6.2km
Bike: 38km
Run: 35.7km
SubTotal: 81.7
May Total: 141.3km

Upcoming Races

  • Como Landing Half Marathon - 27 May 2018
  • Christchurch Marathon - 3 June 2018
  • Wellington Marathon - 1 July 2018

How The Week Went

It is great to be back to 100% training across almost all areas even through I have a marathon in 3 weeks. Winter is coming and I will be taking more of my training indoors as the Winter in Auckland can be very wet and a little dark. Getting out of bed is a little harder but hopefully I will keep my motivation up.

Love the meme of the running under water like a swimmer while the cycle floats on water.

Great post @run.vince.run and share a good time table about training..

I used to run the mile in 7 minutes back in high school. Now, I'm 33 and am trying to get back in shape. Love your happy photos, great smiles, good work with training as it inspires me.

wow thats a pretty good pace...Keep it up. Look forward to hearing about your success.
