It may come to a complete shock to you to discover that apple cider vinegar is not all that it's praised to be. I've always heard though that coconut vinegar is more nutritious than apple cider vinegar and never really paid attention to the dangers that ACV poses.
It's no wonder why when I took ACV (and my dad too experienced) heartburn and acidity in the stomach and chest. I thought it was normal and part of consuming apple cider vinegar. Long and behold... Dr. Sebi and many others have researched the dangers of ACV and it makes sense!
WHAT IS APPLE CIDER VINEGAR & HOW IS IT MADE?
Here is an excerpt copied from Authority Nutrition's site here post here: https://authoritynutrition.com/apple-cider-vinegar-side-effects/ on the 7 side effects of apple cider vinegar, and I copy: "Apple cider vinegar is made by combining apples with yeast.
The yeast then converts the sugar in the apples into alcohol. Bacteria are then added to the mixture, which ferment the alcohol into acetic acid (1).
Acetic acid makes up about 5–6% of apple cider vinegar. It is classified as a “weak acid,” but still has fairly strong acidic properties when it is concentrated.
In addition to acetic acid, vinegar contains water and trace amounts of other acids, vitamins and minerals (1).
Several studies in animals and humans have found that acetic acid and apple cider vinegar may promote fat burning and weight loss, decrease blood sugar levels, increase insulin sensitivity and improve cholesterol levels."
And it appears that acetic acid provides several health benefits, including weight loss, healthier cholesterol and lower blood sugar levels.

AN ARRAY OF MINERALS:
One of the reasons why coconut vinegar is so rich in minerals is the fact that coconut trees are grown in high mineralized soil which includes 65 important minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium. Calcium and magnesium are important for preventing osteoporosis, promoting strong and healthy bones. Potassium really helps to regulate blood pressure and metabolism (which can also be found in bananas).
VITAMINX C AND B:
Coconut vinegar is high in vitamins C and B, both in which are powerful for the body. Vitmain C is excelelnt if you are sick as it helps to neutralize damaged cells caused by free radical in the body. B Vitamins supports a healthy body, increases energy and builds a healthy metabolism.
LOW GLYCEMIC INDEX:
Eating low GI foods foods has been shown to lowers blood sugar spike. By spiking your blood sugar levels, insulin is released, causing weight gain. To avoid this, be sure o look for 'low glycemic index' on labels to be on the safe and healthy side!
NO SIDE EFFECTS:
Unlike apple cider vinegar, coconut vinegar has no known side effects to be aware of. I recommend checking out this post to learn about the 7 side effects of consuming too much ACV: https://authoritynutrition.com/apple-cider-vinegar-side-effects/
AMAZING ALKALINE PROFILE
Eating alkaline foods is necessary for living an optimum lifestyle, and for maintaining a healthy body. Alkaline foods aids digestion, keeps the body feeling optimum, and helps balance out acid-forming foods in the body like meat, milk, coffee, etc. A lack of alkaline foods in one's diet can cause negative health affects, such as fatigue, sickness and poor immunity.
ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS:
Amino acids are crucial for a healthy, properly functioning body. The body cannot produce amino acids, so it relies on the foods we eat to get it. Coconut vinegar is a great source as it contains 17 amino acids, which helps repair tissues and support detoxification.
And I always preferred coconut vinegar over apple cider vinegar. I guess I knew subconsciously coconut vinegar was healthier than apple cider vinegar, probably because coconut vinegar just feels healthier to consume. You're not left with the acidity in your chest after consuming coconut vinegar.
