Daddy Is Home! And Other Twin Updates

in healthy-home •  6 years ago  (edited)

The best laid plans ...

We should’ve known, but it was still a hard hit when Matt’s first flight home was delayed, throwing off the rest of his itinerary. He ended up coming in 30 hours later than originally planned and had to spend a night at the Incheon airport.

Surprise!

Knowing that it had been a rough trip back, I thought Matt could use a surprise. Instead of waiting for him at home, we went to meet him at the airport.

A few hours after they’d gone to bed, I woke up the twins and bundled them into our Grab (a service like Uber).

When Matt messaged me that he was coming through customs and ready for me to book his Grab, I replied “look out for the blue bunny.” Blue bunny is Squirt’s favorite stuffed animal, so I could see him scanning the crowd for us as he walked out the sliding doors.

Sleepy, the girls didn’t recognize him at first. But once Matt picked up Squirt, the realization of who it was dawned on her face.

Squish had a mild fever and wouldn't let go of me. When Matt tried to hold her, she started to cry and didn't understand what was going on.

As the car carried us home, I felt a sense of calm and comfort come over the girls and me as we listened to Matt's voice. It felt good to be a family again.

Daddy's home!

The next morning, the girls slept in but were eager to see Daddy when they woke up. They love having him home! Each day has been filled with the happiness of being together again ... and the strangeness of talking out loud, being spoken to at random moments of the day, and having someone else to care for ... all of which have taken time to adjust to, but which I'm thankful for!

I have lots of things to share from the last two weeks, so as I get back into Steemit, I'm looking forward to sharing those with you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lol, yep I’m back! 😉 it’s good to be here again and I’m feeling ready to jump back in. It’s been mentally hard to think about Steemit but I’ll save that for an upcoming post 😁

It was funny how out of the two months apart, those last 48 hours felt the longest! 😅

Hope you’re doing well! Glad to see you’ve stayed consistent here 😊

48 hours felt the longest

Ironic and funny isn't it?

Glad to have you back! I'm doing good. (just mostly drained with my daughter's being active and all) I'd been going on and off on steemit as well as I'd been venturing on other potential sources of income outside steemit.lol. But I drop by every once in a while. Steem has been down for a while and there seems to be less of my friends in here I get to interact with. Not anymore though as you're finally here again :)

I'm happy he's back @helenoftroy! It might be a lot easier for you to update your Steemit blog now.

I wanted to also update you regarding the other blog post you made on @ironmanmatt's account. I felt the same way as your husband for the first 8 years of my marriage, especially once we settled in, but it all changed a month ago. I took a supplement called Niagen, and it gave me a little bit of extra energy in the day, increased my desire for intimacy with my wife, and also increased my ability to perform.

It's kind of a private topic to talk about but if you want to know the name of the supplement that helped me, it's Tru Niagen, the originally brand of Niagen. I took the suppliment for other reasons but it gave me the benefits I described in less than a week.

Please consider purchasing it for your husband @helenoftroy If it doesn't work, you can just stop ordering it after the first order, but if it does work, you might be pleasantly surprised with the results.

I wish you, @ironmanmatt and your children the very best and I am happy to see your Steemit posts. You are another family like us on the Steem blockchain.

Thanks for reading and commenting! I appreciate your suggestion.

I guess I’d liken it to someone with hearing problems - there are two kinds. One can be solved with hearing aids. The other is simply a matter of not wanting to listen to the person talking.

Matt fell into the second category. There wasn’t a physical problem, but a heart issue. He bore a lot of guilt for past addiction. Once we were able to talk about it, I assured him that ignoring me in the present hurt worse than knowing about his past.

Since then, we’ve enjoyed intimacy for the past four years. Different heart issues still come up for both of us, but we’ve promised to bring them to each other rather than try to fix them on our own.

Hope you and your family are doing well!

Thank you @helenoftroy and yes, my issue was a hearing-aid-like problem. Now that you explained things more, I understand what you mean.

I'm very happy to see your posts with @ironmanmatt and the girls. I also look forward to seeing your next family update 😊😀😁

This is incredibly sweet. I am applauding you mama for bundling two of them up and set off by yourself to welcome your husband back. So much effort and thoughts being put into that, and I'm sure it's totally worth it! Enjoy having the husband back home @helenaoftroy! :)

Thanks so much for the encouraging words @happycrazycon! Waking up the girls reminded me of when my parents would get us up "in the middle of the night" (it was probably just before dawn) to go on long road trips. It's fun to recreate those memories with my girls!

Hope you're doing well! <3
